If you have been praying for us, thank you. We had heard lots of good news recently, things that continue to deserve our and your prayers!
Congratulations to Ryan and Morag Renfro, who have announced that they are expecting a baby in August! Pray for them as they prepare for their first family member!
Congratulations also to Paul and Joyce Jeffers, our friends in Antofagasta, Chile, who are expecting another child in April! Pray for them, specifically, for comfort and assurance as they prepare to have a baby in the Chilean medical system, for clear communication (in english or spanish) and enough english speaking doctors. Also, for eyesight for their second baby- Gabriel, their son has endured several operations at a young age to restore his sight. Praise the Lord for His help as they sort out passports/identity for their new baby. Pray that Paul would have time to do the paperwork in addition to his job.
Praise God for helping our friend Chris Reilly to purchase a house in Edinburgh. Also, for God’s will to be done in Chris’ plans to visit Chile later this year. And for his application to work with the Foreign & Commonwealth office.
Rachel has her schedule until June and has only two short shifts and much more time in Santiago. Thank you ESO! Pray that this time together in Santiago would be a time of growth for both of us and for recuperation for Rachel. We have several weekends away planned. Pray that these would offer enough rest and relaxation. Prayers would be appreciated for Cedric, a collegue of Rachel’s who has damaged his knee and can’t work- this may impact on Rachel’s schedule.
We have welcomed several new people at our church- an unusual time of year for newcomers, but an answer to prayer after some good friends returned earlier this year! These include people who have never heard of Jesus and the message of good news we, as Christians, have to share. Praise the Lord for these opportunities to share with incoming gringos and gringas! Pray for our witness here and for more opportunities to serve in Chile.
Pray for our friends Dave Gordge and Jemima, in Australia. We give thanks to God for providing Jemima with a job in Canberra, in occupational therapy- her “ideal field” and also in the same city as Dave! Pray for them as they prepare to be married in September and find accommodation. Also for Dave who is on a whistlestop 2 week work trip.
Pray for our friends James and Penelope- in particular, as James battles depression and as Penelope applies for jobs in Santiago, so that they can be free from parental interference and financial dependency.
For God’s continued love and grace to us here in Chile, for His work to humble us and to depend more on him for strength, guidance and inspiration to share His glory. Pray for our time with two friends, Carey and Naomi, this weekend, and for our youth group camping trip next weekend.
