A wife= una esposa
The wife= la esposa
The wives= las esposas

Alternative meaning for las esposas? = handcuffs!

Verb, esposado(/a)= to be handcuffed/arrested!

Why would you need to plural it? Who needs more than one wife anyhow! Can you imagine it!!!
