I missed it…..

A few nights ago, whilst I was in Santiago, there was a stunning blue flash here on Paranal (see posts below). One of the engineers caught it on camera - check out his photos at http://www.atacamaphoto.com/Paranal/Paranal34.htm .

    Shame you missed it - photos never quite capture spectacular events, do they?

    Talking of which, I’ve only just worked out what that picture at the top right of the website is. Until today, I’d always assumed it was waves breaking against a harbour wall on a windy day. Looking at it again, I realise that it’s more likely to be the view from an aeroplane window.

    That picture of Paranal sunset is absolutely amazing! It would have been lovely for you to have seen it, Rachel. I would like to have seen it too. Might! You never know. I might see it when I come to visit you both. Love Mum G

    we enjoyed looking at the picture. Kim has just heard she has got the half-funding for next year and she’s looking forward to seeing you both. Gran has sent you a cheque (her early inheritance she says!) Hopefully you will get it soon. Look forward to hearing from you soon when you get home.
