Calendars!

Well, we might have evaded an onslaught of vases at our wedding, but Christmas has brought us a bumper collection of calendars with scenes of Scotland, Shropshire, Sheep, More Scotland, Sheep, Snow and maybe even the odd Santa Claus!

Thanks very much for your pressies! We’ve enjoyed opening them today, in 32 degrees, around our 1 foot high christmas tree!

Seeing the pictures in the calendar reminded me of a picture I took recently, of Scotland, on the way out of Killin… whoever thought this signing system would work?

Errmmm. Can't be done for speeding then?!Can you be done for speeding in Killin?!

I’m missing Scotland’s cool, wet, mountains and clouds… haven’t seen even one cloud today. Since everyone is staying at home today, we’ve seen the snow covered mountains to the north of the city all day today, for the first time ever!

    Hi Doug and Rachel
I guess I am the first to respond since I am the only sad sod who works on boxingday. I arrived back from SA yesterday morning, was picked up by my 73yr old friend Jean and we had lunch at the elderly club at her church. It was a good day but a major shock to leave a warm summers evening in Johannesburg and to arrive at 0 degrees in Manchester on Christmas day. So I’m sitting behind my desk, trying to work through my 56e-mails in my inbox and eating biltong (dried meat) and provitas, that is the kind of food we use to take on hiking trips back home. I just have so much to tell the two of you but I’ll write a personal e-mai. But just to make you GREEN: I’m going to Scotland for new year, thanks to you met Julie and going to visit her.
    Till later then
    Linda
